Under Construction!!

Remember a few weeks ago me telling you about the terrible rain storm and how lightening struck the pole in our backyard and our dishwasher flooded our kitchen, dining room and living room. Well we have now finalized all the damage with the insurance company (BIG ordeal) and this is what Ron and I did all weekend.
We gutted our kitchen. We have hired a cabinet maker, tile man and a man to create the countertops of my dreams. But, till all the work is done we are eating sandwiches and washing dishes (the few I'm using) in the bathtub. I'm so excited to be doing all this to our house. We have wanted to re-do our kitchen for many years.
I will keep you updated on all the new construction.

New Member of the Family

Look who has come to live in our household. Her name is Kalli. She is a 6 week old border collie. She has captured all our hearts.
When she grows up she will be a run dog for Karli & Nolan's show lambs. But, for now she is our new baby. We all went to our ranch this afternoon and she loved laying in the wheat field under a shade tree.

Guess who is undefeated??? Lee MS 7th Grade White team. Nolan is having a blast. It's been fun watching him play.

Rained Out

Well...Nolan's first football game got rained out. We made it a little past Buffalo Gap and Nolan called my cell phone to tell me that the games had been called off. Ron and I were bummed to miss out on Red Robin, not to mention getting to watch the "little dude" hike the ball. I'll take and post pictures from the next game on Monday.

STORMS

I've never been a fan of storms, I have as long as I can remember I have been fearful of thunder and lightening. If you could see my kitchen you would know why I haven't been a fan of weather storms. I'm also not a fan of emotional & spiritual storms in my life. I like my life to rock along from day to day with no big changes in "barometric pressures or humidity." For the last few months we've been having our share of storms around our house. I'm here to tell you that I'm ready for sunshine...my heart is crying out for clear skies and sunshine. But I'm reminded of a story from the Bible where Jesus called Peter out of the boat during a windy night to walk with him on the water. But when Peter took his eyes off the Lord for just a minute he began to sink into the water. God is calling me to keep my eyes on him during the storms and also during the joyful times.

Friday Night Lights....Here We Come!!!

Well, maybe not FRIDAY, but most definately Wednesday & Monday afternoon lights. Since Nolan is in 7th grade that is when the schools begin having sports teams. Nolan has always wanted to play football but we never signed him up through the YMCA because the games were played on Saturday mornings during hunting season. If you know Ron & Nolan you know that would NEVER work. Now that Nolan is in athletics at school he has been working and trying out for the Lee Middle School football team. He came home last night and told us that he has made the "A" team and brought a schedule home.

He has tagged along for years as we traveled to watch Whitni play soccer and Karli play basketball. So to say that he is excited that we will be traveling to watch him play is an understatment. I'm excited because our first game is in Abilene and that means I might get to eat at Red Robin!!!
