DISTRICT CHAMPS!!!

Yes, you read right....Nolan's 11 yr All-Star team are the San Angelo District Champions. They played a great game on Friday night. The other team came to play and our boys had to dig deep to come out on top. But they, did!! They came back from a 4th inning score of 4-8 to win the game 14-10. We now advance to Sectionals and we will be traveling to BIG town of Del Rio, Tx on July 11-13 for that tournament! I'll try to get some pictures, I was too exicted on Friday to take any.

We Won...5-4

Nolan's All-Star Team won their first game last night. All the boys were nervous, as we could tell by now they played. But they stepped it up and won. We now have to win another game tonight and then we are District Champions. It would be so neat to be a part of the team that is posted at the field.

When we got home last night someone had put a sign in our front yard with Nolan's name and jersey number on it. He was so excited. I'm not sure who did that, but thank you. You made a little boy's special night more special!

My Favorite People

These are my favorite people...the ones who make me smile, laugh, and cry (sometimes)....they are also the ones who love me and accept when I'm not very loveable. I know there are no perfect families out there, because the only perfect human was Jesus Christ. But my family is perfect for/to me. We have fun together and we enjoy being together. It amazes me that as the song says..."All because two people fell in love." Ron and I celebrated 18 years of marriage this past week. Our marriage is what I always dreamed of. Ron and I both have some rough edges, but we accept each other and challenge each other to be better Christians. Of course I think I have the most wonderful kids, who doesn't think that. But, my kids REALLY are great. I pray that Ron and I have shown them how to rely on God for their joy and have shown them the tools it takes for a good Christian marriage. Because when it's all said and done it takes 3 for a successful marriage.

Life Goes On

It seems that for so long our focus was on planning Whitni's wedding and now that it's over I'm kinda at a loss for what to do with my spare time. ha ha ha!! What spare time you ask. Well...tonight the worry of what to do with my spare time was taken care of for me. We recieved a phone call from the coach of the Northern Little League 11 year old All Star Team. Nolan made the team!!!! He has tried out every year for the last 3 years and never quite made it, well after a great regular season he tried out again and this year is THE year. Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE watching my kids compete in sports (soccer, softball, stockshows and of course BASEBALL). We are in for some GOOD times this summer!

Only a Memory Now

The wedding is all over and only a memory now. A WONDERFUL MEMORY..that is. Whitni & Mark's special day was FANTASTIC!!! Everything was perfect!!! Whitni was a beautiful bride, the minister did a great ceremony, Ron made everyone cry when he was asked, "Who gives this bride". His response was, "I believe that like the day God blessed me and gave Whitni to me, that God gives Whitni to Mark today." That statement was my breaking point, I had held it together until then.

The reception was a BLAST!!! Everyone commented on how good the food, cakes, and homemade sangria, was!! Then the dancing started. Whitni and Mark danced to "I Wanna Be Loved Like That" and then she and Ron danced to "Dancing Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Again that was my tearful moment. It will always be a memory that I will hold in my heart of me standing on the side of the dance floor as I watched my husband take our daughter in his arms, kiss her forehead, and begin dancing with his baby girl. As one stage of motherhood ends....a new one opens.

The End of an Era!!!

My baby graduated from Elementary School this past week. What would make this a monumental occasion, other than my son is growing up. Well....on May 30, as Nolan walked under that purple archway and "graduated" that was the end of a 15 year partnership between the Sauer's and Santa Rita Elementary. For the past 15 years they have had at least one of my children under their roof. It was another one of those moments (I'm having so many these day) that I realized in yet another way that my "little birdies" are stretching their wings getting ready to fly.

As you can tell in the picture below Nolan is more than ready for his wings to stretch wide, or so he thinks. Isn't he adorable!!
